Taxes, Fees and Currency

Which currency we bill in, how taxes work, and which fees you pay on card and crypto payments.

Taxes, Fees and Currency

This page covers the extra costs and currency details that sit around the price of a plan.

Currency

Prices are in US dollars (USD) unless we say otherwise.

  • Cards in another currency. Your bank converts the amount. The final figure on your statement can differ from the USD price because of exchange rates. Any currency conversion or cross-border fee is set by your bank, and we do not cover or reimburse it.
  • Crypto. The price is set in USD. At checkout, we show how much of your chosen coin that is, at the rate quoted at that moment. We do not compensate for later changes in the coin's value.

Taxes

Prices do not include taxes. You are responsible for any taxes that apply to your purchase where you live.

For crypto, you are also responsible for any taxes that come from your use of cryptocurrency, such as taxes on a disposal of the coins you used to pay.

Fees on crypto payments

You pay the network fees (often called gas) and any exchange or wallet fees. They are on top of the price.

Make sure fees are not taken out of the amount you send, or the payment can arrive short. See Underpaid crypto payment.

Price changes

We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice. A change does not affect the billing cycle you are already in.
