Sub-Agents

Sub-Agents

The XHack Agent can fan out into sub-agents, extra autonomous workers that run at the same time as your main chat. One can map the attack surface while another scans a host and a third digs into a promising bug. It is all done from the desktop window; there is no command line.

Launch sub-agents

1. Above the input box, click Select Folder and pick the working folder for this job.

2. Click into the chat input box and describe the parallel work you want, naming the roles you need. For example:

   "Split this into three sub-agents: one for recon on acme.com, one to scan the hosts it finds, and one to hunt the login flow for auth bypass."

3. Press Enter. The Agent spins up a sub-agent for each role (think recon, scanner, exploit, full-hunt, or a custom goal you describe) and they start working in parallel.

Watch them in the Agents panel

1. In the bottom status bar, click Agents (or press Ctrl+B).
2. A panel opens on the right with one card per sub-agent, showing its status, current progress, findings so far, and running cost.
3. Click any card to open its detail view.

When a sub-agent finishes, its results are summarized back into your main chat, so everything lands in one place.

Pause, resume, stop, and steer

Inside a card's detail view you get:

• Pause and Resume: hold a run that is getting expensive, then let it continue.

• Stop: end a sub-agent that has done its job or wandered off scope.

• A Steer agent… box at the bottom. Type a redirect and send it to change course without stopping. For example:

  "Skip the login page and focus on the /api/orders endpoint."

The sub-agent picks up the new direction on its next step.

They survive a restart

Sub-agents persist. If you close the app or it restarts mid-run, your agents are still listed in the Agents panel when you reopen it and continue from where they left off.
